Cops nab suspected drug kingpin and seize R1m drugs in Polokwane

POLOKWANE – A 40 year old foreign national was arrested on Friday afternoon after police discovered illegal drugs worth over R1 million at a house in Limpopo.

“Members of the Limpopo Highway Patrol and the Tracing Team conducted an intelligence driven operation after receiving information on the suspect who was allegedly dealing in drugs at particular address in Polokwane,” police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mamphaswa Seabi said.

The police raided the house and discovered large quantities of nyaope, crystal myth and drug manufacturing chemicals worth over a million rand.

“The relentless efforts by members of the South African Police Service in Limpopo to rid the province of the mushrooming of drugs has paid off,” added Seabi.

Police added that their preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was possibly the kingpin distributor of drugs to local dealers who were selling on the streets.

The suspect will appear before Polokwane magistrate’s court soon.
