Pretoria- Malawi’s Attorney General Chikosa Silungwe has confirmed writing to the Minister of Homeland Security to proceed with legal processes which will facilitate self-styled prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary’s extradition to South Africa, Capital FM Malawi reported.

Meanwhile, Nyasa Times also reported that two prominent chiefs came out with guns blazing on Sunday saying that Bushiri will not go to South Africa.

In an inclusive interview with Nyasa Times two paramount Chiefs defended Bushiri’s extradiction with one saying, “Malawi has an obligation to protect its citizens”, with the other echoing, “The lives of the Bushiri’s maybe in danger.”

The flamboyant, self styled prophet escaped bail last month after it was granted by a Pretoria court.
