CARLETONVILLE – The South African Human Rights Commission will visit Sibanye-Stillwater, Lebanon Division, in Carletonville to meet with ex-mine workers on Thursday.
The Commission intends to engage with the labour unions, ex-mine workers association, Sibanye-Stillwater and the Police in order to mediate a solution that addresses the concerns raised by ex-mine workers.
This visit follows reports that some of the mine workers did not receive compensation for silicosis and TB after a settlement was reached with mining companies.
The Commission will also look into allegations of the existence of graves of ex-mine workers at the Lebanon Division of Sibanye-Stillwater.
