BOKSBURG – Five suspects have appeared before the Boksburg Magistrates court on charges of murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Among the five is a suspect who allegedly pulled the trigger on Senzo Meyiwa.
All accused have pleaded not guilty. The suspects have refused to take the stand, they opted to stand next to the dock.
This follows the announcement by Minister of Police Bheki Cele on Monday. Cele said the suspects had been arrested in KZN and Gauteng.
Accused number five and three have placed it on record that they are being wrongfully accused as some of them were already serving sentences for other crimes. The accused boldly alleged that the state is lying and they were not arrested on Monday as stated by the police Minister.
The matter has been postponed to 27 November.
