DURBAN – The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) was on Friday investigating the case of a 39-year-old police officer from KwaCeza, in KwaZulu Natal, who allegedly shot and killed a 47-year-old man.
Ipid spokesperson Ndileka Cola said the 47-year-old man was shot in the morning, on Thursday.
“According to the preliminary investigation conducted by IPID, the deceased was allegedly having an affair with the wife of the suspect,” said Cola.
“The suspect has been detained and he is facing charges of murder.”
The murder-accused police officer was on Friday set to make his initial appearance before the Mahlabathini Magistrate’s Court.
Ipid continues with the full investigation of this case,” said Cola.
