DA Gauteng Interim Leader Solly Msimanga faces alleged sexual harassment complaint

Pretoria – Sexual harassment claims have been laid against Democratic Alliance, DA, Gauteng Interim Leader Solly Msimanga by DA Gauteng Member of the legislature, Nkele Molapo.

Mike Moriarty MPL DA Gauteng Chairperson said “a claim of alleged sexual harassment has been laid with the party leadership against DA Gauteng Interim Leader Solly Msimanga.”

The complaint has been lodged with the party and will be dealt with through the party’s internal processes, explained Moriarty.

DA Gauteng said it trusts it’s internal processes will be able to ascertain what happened and whether the allegations are true or false.

The alleged sexual harassment is said to have occurred seven years ago. Moriarty said “the timing of reporting this incident raises questions about the veracity of the complaint.”

Msimanga laid charges of crimen injuria against the complainant, Nkele Molapo, said Moriarty.

Moriarty also added that Msimanga had agreed to avail himself for investigations and also agreed to do a lie detector test. The results to be made available to the public.
